Today SistamatiK rolled on out to SLUH with our star, Omega. The Clavius Jamboree went swimmingly and it was wonderful to see the next generation of FRC teams in action! My old grade school was also there and I was thrilled to see all the young girls representing St. Mark! Never mind my own personal nostalgia, let's get back to robots! Omega drove around for the Clavius kids to watch and ask questions. After a filling lunch and a fun-filled day we all took the excruciatingly long ( 9 minute) journey home to RK. Our build team is working on the chassis ever so diligently (and absolutely not because they were promised pizza when they finished). The admin team has finished the rough draft for the Chairman's award! Now it's time for endless corrections, and rewrites! The script is also supposedly finished. We still need to draft and practice our presentation as well as our video but if the admin team stays schedule, it will all be finished in due time. Hooray!
Over and out, Morgan

Man, I must have scared you with that title, eh?
*Wink* No worries, Guilly was mostly dead anyway. I removed what was left of her control system so we could use it in the new one. Remember: Reduce, reuse, recycle, especially if you have low funding. On a separate note, our Mecanum wheels arrived today! They're so cool; I can't wait! Mrs. Lester is satisfied now that she can say, "Cassie, build that chassis!" She's also tried out, "Logan, build that program," but it doesn't work as well. The Chairman's essay is heating up; it's now marginally longer than it was a last meeting. Riley, Morgan, and I are trying to keep it cooking along. At least I'm better at writing than I am at cooking, otherwise I'd be out of a job. Remember to check out all our social media! Riley posted a little ditty of a video that Logan came up with. It is a masterpiece. Like, comment, subscribe and all that jazz (I guess that really isn't applicable here but find a way to do it anyway.) Signing off, Eleanor, the obviously best and most prolific blog writer west of the webpage, so take that Riley Because we keep chuggin' along, get it?
Anywho, the admins are back at it again! The Chairman's essay has significantly grown in length which is grand. An update from Tyler says the script for the presentation is completed which is totally rad! Hopefully everything will come together soon! We received a package today! Some brand new Mecanum wheels! Our build team is working hard as usual, lots of power tools and hustle and bustle over in their corner of our workshop. One of our 3D printer operators, Emily Rollins has been playing around with Marlin (one of our 3D printers). We are thinking of selling 3D-printed key-chains so she has also been perfecting the design. This Saturday we have the Clavius Jamboree at SLUH, so stay tuned for pictures! As Riley always says, "have a nice day" Stay groovy my dudes! Morgan Obviously it is Morgan! I am much lesser compared to incredible blogging power!!
-elnorb Wow! I personally cannot believe that this is up for debate. Obviously, I am the Most Superior of the blog writers. It is purely insulting to say otherwise. I am the person who contributes the most to this blog and I post so much more than anyone else.
Thank you for your continued support, Riley This one is dedicated to my friend Annie Hilker, who I told I would update the blog every meeting but obviously have lied to and betrayed. I hope you'll forgive me, Annie.
A small overview of the room at the present moment: Bianca, our dedicated 3D Printer and CAD Designer, is tirelessly overseeing the printing process that's about as exciting as watching paint dry, maybe a bit less. She's had a few errors, but has smoothed them out now. Thank you, Bianca, dealing with CAD software. You are a far better person than me. On a weirder note, the 3D printer makes unsettling sounds like some demented ice cream truck, and it's freaking me out. Sitting in a circle like some sort of secret witches' gathering is our design team being aided by our lovely Boeing mentor, Christine. They are ironing out the details about our picking-up-the-block-and-stuff mechanism (y'know, that thing). At least that's what they appear to be doing; they may actually be summoning Volde- oops, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named or something. Riley and I are working one the ever-changing Chairman's essay. (Yeah, I know. Technically I'm writing this blog post, but I swear I doing something useful before!) The essay has breached the second page! I really hope it stays that way. Stick to it, Riley! Singing off- I mean, signing off (Can you tell who needs some sleep?) Eleanor, Electrical Head and Chairman's Essay Victim Our admin team has been hard at work! Charlotte INSISTS we need to re-brand and change our a cute, fuzzy animal (preferably a bee). Personally, I think our "brand" is just fine, but if we have to re-brand, our mascot should be the KouGears (since Rosati-Kain's mascot is the Kougar). What do you think? Ridiculous mascot discussions aside, our build team is working hard! In fact, everyone is! Even though an unnecessary amount of time was spent discussing our branding, the admin team continued to make progress on our Chairman's Award essay. We have also made some major changes to our website and will continue to adjust things in order to make it user friendly and appealing. I really enjoy working on the website so I hope whatever changes we make improve your experience!
Stay groovy my dudes! Morgan Oh my, I'm a senior this year! Scary... but I'm ready for another great season. I'm with the Chairman's Award team, Riley and Morgan today. We've got a great topic lined up for our essay! Now we just have to... write it. Hooray, we get to write an essay, soooo excited... Okay, may not be that glamorous, but it's important. It's time to write an essay to be proud of! We've got a solid outline and are currently initiating our rough draft. As you can see: Signing off,
Eleanor, your inside eye on all things SistamatiK SistamatiK headed out to Wydown Middle School to watch the kickoff stream for the FRC 2018 season, FIRST Power Up. After the game was revealed, the gang headed back to RK and the build team started brainstorming design and strategy. On the other side of the spectrum, the admin team got busy discussing the Chairman's Award essay and presentation, as well as community outreach and sponsorship opportunities. Big things to come for SistamatiK! Stay tuned! P.S. Did you know that in our off-season, our alliance won the Gateway Robotics Challenge? For more consistent updates on about SistamatiK, follow our various social media pages! (Check out the "Social Media" tab under "Get Involved") Have a great season! Stay groovy my dudes! Morgan |
