To brighten up your day, here's a bunch of robot memes! Here's some FRC memes too! Bye for now people!
Charlotte (Not of Cambridge) Karen, our coach screamed these words today while playing Bubble Witch Saga 2. Although we still have a lot of things to do, one of our top priorities is building the chassis for our TWO robots. "Why two robots?" you may ask. If we build a second robot exactly like the first, after we bag the first one we can still practice driving with the second one. The first chassis being finished on the right and the second chassis on the left beginning to be built. Now that the first chassis is built, Eleanor, our electrical head, will wire the chassis and give it life, much like Dr. Frankenstein did to his monster. So I guess you could call Eleanor Frankie. Or Frank. Or just plain ol' Frankenstein. I'm sure she'd love it.
Adios Amigos! Charlotte (Not a Spider) P.S. I might not be a spider, but having 8 eyes seems pretty cool. P.P.S. Un mensaje en Español, comen frutas mañana. Frutas es delicioso! P.P.P.S. That was random. I apologize. I hope none of you wonderful folks got buried in the ice storm. Because if you did, you won't be able to learn about all the cool things Team 5583 SistamatiK is doing!
Unfortunately, our Saturday meeting was cancelled due to the weather, but the team is working hard to make up for the lost time. The Chairman's team was working on, whaddya know, the Chairman's essay, and the rest of the build team was split. One group was constructing the fuel hopper, and the others were redoing our chassis to fit in the omni-wheels we had gotten before the meeting. They're finishing that up now. Big news, guys! I have apprentices. Not just one, two! Some of our sophomores have, probably very reluctantly, have agreed to take up the yoke of the Electrical Team. Now I actually have an Electrical Team to head! I showed them the basics of wire stripping and crimping and what the heck plugs where the heck. I think they were thrilled (In this sense, the word 'thrilled' means 'bored'). All jokes aside, we have the basic components of the control system all set up and ready to go! I can't wait for the next step! I hope you had a n-ice weekend! Eleanor, Electrical Team Head Hello for the first time this season! Who's excited for FIRST STEAMWORKS?
*Crickets* Fine, I can tell when I'm not wanted. Now you won't be able to hear about all the cool thing team 5583 SistamatiK is doing. I'm just going to leave. *No, No, Eleanor! We want to know! We love you!* No, you made your opinions quite clear. I'll just stop wasting your time. Goodbye, everyone. I may or may not be never coming back. *Wait, Eleanor! Don't go! We love you! We want to hear about SIstamatiK!* Ung, fine. I guess I can tell you if you really want to know. When I walked in a little late for our meeting today, I found all our team members hard at work. The admin team was looking into a list of possible sponsors they compiled the last time. Our build team is split into smaller groups to accomplish things a bit quicker: one group is constructing the chassis, another group is replicating field parts, and the design team just got off the video phone with one of our super-cool mentors and has contintued their prototyping. We're all working so hard to start of the season right! Full Steam Ahead! Your trusty blogger, Eleanor, Electrical Head Please welcome the new addition to the SistamatiK family, Marlin the 3D printer. Today, he created his first print, a #rocktopus Looking in the manual, It said we were supposed to read the entire thing before turning on the printer. Whoops! Here's what the screen looks like when It's about to print. You can rotate the model along the X,Y, and Z axes; change the printing speed, printing material, material ease of use; and add other things to the model to make it more stable. Hopefully, we will be able to graduate to the full settings and maybe even the advanced settings to helps us make bigger and better 3D-printed projects. Better read that manual! Signing off,
